Essex based Housing Association Partners with Social Housing Provider

CHP, an Essex based Housing Association, who, last month were in talks with Esturary Housing Association about a possible merger that would create a portfolio of approximately 16,000 homes, have announced a partnership with NewArch Homes, who are a registered provider of social housing, owned by Octopus Affordable Housing Fund. NewArch has purchased 220 homes from CHP, being a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent properties, with some tenanted and 59 out of the 220 homes are from their development pipeline.

This partnership is to address the shortfall of affordable housing across Essex, and Peter Merchant, the Investment Director for Octopus Real Estate, said: “We are pleased to enter into partnership with CHP, an organisation with which we have many shared values, to deliver new affordable housing across Essex.
